Utility Assistance Program

The Somerset Community Action Program (SCAP) Utility Assistance Program is designed to support individuals and families facing financial hardship by helping with past-due utility balances or shut-off notices. This initiative aims to prevent the accumulation of unmanageable utility costs and the disconnection of essential services. SCAP’s goal is to ensure that all members of our community maintain access to vital utilities, promoting stability and well-being for those in need. To qualify for the program, participants must complete the Financial Literacy Course and be residents of Somerset County.
