The Somerset Community Action Program, Inc. (SCAP) has been a catalyst for transformation in Somerset County, New Jersey since 1965. As one of the first community action agencies established under the Economic Opportunity Act, SCAP is a proud member of the Community Action Partnership National Association. From day one, SCAP’s leadership has embraced progressive values and a deep belief in the power of community-driven change.
For over five decades, SCAP has served as Somerset County’s designated community action agency—partnering with residents to overcome barriers to economic stability and unlock new opportunities. Our holistic programs in early childhood education, youth development, family support, and community services are designed not only to address immediate needs, but to build lasting resilience and independence.

As Executive Director of SCAP I am deeply honored to lead an organization whose mission is grounded in compassion, equity, and empowerment. At the heart of our work lies a profound belief in the power of community—that when we come together, we can create lasting change and a prosperous future for all.
As a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, I know firsthand the importance of teamwork and community service. These values are deeply embedded in our organization’s approach and fuel our commitment to uplifting those we serve.
Our work goes beyond providing services; we strive to be a catalyst for economic stability and opportunity. Through job training, housing support, financial literacy, youth programs, affordable childcare, and access to essential resources, we help individuals and families build strong foundations and achieve long-term self-sufficiency.
These efforts are only possible because of the unwavering support of our dedicated staff, generous donors, committed partners, and passionate volunteers.
